SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager with POPM Certification Training Course
Develop the skills required to lead value delivery in a Lean Enterprise — and learn the practices, tools, and mechanisms for managing backlogs and programs — by becoming a SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM). In this two-day course, participants gain in-depth knowledge of the Agile Release Train (ART), how it delivers value, and how to effectively fulfill their role.
Participants will also learn how to apply Lean thinking to create Epics, break them down into Features and User Stories, plan and execute Iterations, and plan Program Increments. Finally, participants will discover the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture, learn how to effectively integrate into Product Owner and Product Manager roles, and understand what is needed for continuous improvement of the ART.
To fulfill the role of a SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager, participants should be able to:
- Apply SAFe in a Lean Enterprise
- Connect SAFe Lean-Agile principles and values with PO/PM roles
- Collaborate with Lean Portfolio Management

Requirements
All are welcome to the course, regardless of experience. However, the following prerequisites are strongly recommended for those intending to take the SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification exam:
- Completion of the Leading SAFe® course
- Work experience in a SAFe environment
- Experience with Lean, Agile, or other relevant certifications

21 HoursThe PAQ is a three-day, experiential exam preparation course designed to help participants develop practical skills they can immediately apply in their workplace.
The exam is structured as a hands-on assessment. Candidates receive a product backlog release containing user stories, related design documentation, and a "multi-drop" application pre-loaded with defects. During the practical assessment, candidates are provided with clear instructions on expectations and the opportunity to produce the required work products. Each assessment includes one or two additional scenario-based questions requiring written responses, totaling up to five questions covering various competencies. Both the written answers and the product backlog release evaluations are graded by an independent assessor. The assessment lasts for 2.5 hours.
