Day 1: Cloud Foundations and Core Services

- Cloud adoption models and associated trade-offs: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and the shared responsibility model.
- Key components of Azure architecture: Regions, Resource Groups, and Resources.
- Designing mission-critical architectures with a focus on disaster recovery targets (RTO, RPO).
Part II: Core Cloud Services
- Foundations of storage and data management using Azure Table Storage and Azure Cosmos DB.
- Compute and containerization platforms: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Registry (ACR).
- Relational data management and messaging via Azure SQL Database and Azure Service Bus.
- Practical exercises for each service: covering configuration, deployment, and evaluation against availability, performance, security, and pricing criteria.
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code with Bicep to ensure reproducible environments.
Day 2: Architecture Leadership and Clean Architecture

- Defining software architecture and understanding various architectural viewpoints.
- The roles, responsibilities, and decision-making ownership of a software architect.

- Choosing the right cloud services for monolith modernization, weighing the advantages and disadvantages.
- Practical lab: Designing, building, and deploying a Clean Architecture solution on Azure using .NET.
Day 3: Domain-Driven and Distributed Architectures
Part V: DDD, CQRS, and Event Sourcing
- Fundamentals of Domain-Driven Design: defining domain boundaries, establishing a ubiquitous language, and model-driven design.
- Applying CQRS and Event Sourcing concepts to manage complex, evolving business domains.
- Architectural patterns commonly employed in DDD-based cloud solutions.
- Practical lab: Implementing Event Sourcing as a requirements-driven design technique, moving from requirements to events, aggregates, and event flows.
Part VI: Microservices
- Core principles of microservices architecture and the trade-offs inherent in distributed systems.
- Selecting appropriate cloud services for microservices-based solutions, analyzing pros and cons.
- Synchronous and asynchronous communication styles in microservices, including reliability patterns such as circuit breakers and resiliency strategies.
- Ensuring testability in microservices and CI/CD pipelines: covering contract testing, integration testing boundaries, automated quality gates, and deployment confidence.
- Practical lab: Designing, building, and deploying microservices on Azure using .NET.
Requirements
- Proficiency in an advanced programming language, such as C# or Java.
