Requirement for Superset Consulting A major financial services firm sought to transition one of its key products from a leading industry BI solution to an Open Source system (Superset), aiming to achieve significant savings on licensing costs.
Deliverables NobleProg conducted several project meetings with the client to thoroughly understand the requirements, scope, risks, and technical environment. Based on these discussions, we developed a comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and track the project's progress. Our lead consultant worked closely to align the existing data architecture with the specific reporting requirements for each report type. Recommendations were made to modify the data stores to optimize Superset usage and ensure peak performance, with the implementation team receiving detailed guidance to execute these changes. Following the optimization of the data store and data pipeline, our consultants began building and deploying a variety of reports, addressing both existing requirements and new requests from the business and end customers. To present data as requested, custom plug-ins were developed to enable more interactive data visualization features, such as drill-down capabilities.
Outcome The consultants have continued to build new dashboards while ensuring that sufficient knowledge is transferred to the customer organization for the ongoing maintenance of these dashboards and reports.
The project remains ongoing and has been well-received by both the client’s business unit and their end clients. The success of the initiative has led to its expansion, now covering additional products and end clients.
