Course Outline

Introduction

Data management involves the processes of storing and processing information. For enterprises, the scope of data management expands significantly. The volume of data and the speed required for its processing, security, sharing, and analysis are critical factors.

This course is designed for entry-level engineers. It explores the various technologies, tools, architectures, and design methodologies employed to handle large-scale data. The curriculum covers traditional data storage methods, such as relational databases, alongside newer, less structured approaches.

The course compares traditional file systems with distributed file systems, and contrasts traditional server architectures with clustered server architectures, all within the context of managing and processing big data across distributed environments.

Participants will engage in hands-on exercises and assessments, followed by instructor coaching and group discussions.
